This series of modules satisfies the New York State Department of State
education requirements to become a licensed NYS Home Inspector. You will be
required to complete all five modules in order to successfully complete this
course.

To become a New Licensed NYS Home Inspector,
you must: |

|
have successfully completed high school or
its equivalent |
| |
•
|
have no prior felony convictions |
| |
•
|
successfully complete a NYS approved, course of study of not less than 140
hours. 40 hours of which must be unpaid field based inspections in the presence
of and under the supervision of a Home Inspector licensed by NYS, or a
professional engineer or architect, regulated by NYS. |

pass the NYS Department of State
Home Insepctor Licensing Exam, or taken and passed an existing nationally
recognized examination, deemed equivalent, prior to December 31, 2005. |

pay NYS a non-refundable application fee of $250 for a 2 year license |
