Winning The Water Cooler War
Location: Colonie
Overview:
Ever wanted to go out to the parking lot and kick out the taillights of the
office Know-It-All? Sure. We all have. Unfortunately, this course cannot
instruct you as the most effective method for shattering those taillights – nor
do we, in any way, endorse the practice itself – but hopefully we can all learn
some tips for conversationally taking the offender down a few pegs. This course
is learning wrapped up in fun. We discuss topics of the day – from the “hot
button” to the silly – and learn to express our opinion and accept others in a
comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, where there is no reason to feel intimidated or
ashamed of your perspective. There are no overbearing jerks who believe that
being the loudest makes them the smartest. Never walk away from another
discussion feeling frustrated and saying to yourself, “I should’ve said…” Come
on in for a good time, learning and great conversation… And don’t forget to
BRING YOUR OPINIONS!
Topics: learn how to be sharper and more prepared in those day-to-day
verbal wrestling matches at work, home or while in line at the store • tips and
strategies for dealing with the various types of conversational bullies
Instructor: Curtis Candy developed this program as an extension of his
many years as a stand-up comic. His act was improvisational; working off his
audience, In short order, his show based strictly on “Solving The World’s
Problems” became a hit. Curtis now brings those years of experience in
moderating – and sometimes manipulating – verbal jousting matches to the
classroom, in the form of instructing effective social debate.
